Kiari's update #1 for DA

Day 9 after diagnosis.

She is receiving a blood transfusion through her PICC line. Her red blood cell count was low this morning and so it was needed. I sit here watching her listing to her whimpers and just hoping there isn't going to be a negative reaction. So far she's just been tired...

...the steroids play a big part in how she acts though anyway.

Tomorrow is her next CT scan to see if the mass has gone down. Depending on that will show whether or not it is safe enough to sedate her.

The plan is Friday to be able to pull a bone marrow sample to send off for genetic testing and see if the type of make-up this particular T-cell leukemia has and if there are any other known treatments.

She will also get her next Lumbar Puncture then and her next dose of chemo. Her hair will not began to fall out for a few more weeks, and her immune system shouldn't go down to nothing till next week.

It's alot to take in, and I'm terrified to take her home.

Currently I'm looking at all the things I'm going to need to make home life, homey and more manageable.
